new beginnings

well needless to say we have lots to catch up on. a new me requires a new blog. a big girl blog. have no fear, i am, of course still me. i, along with hannah and lori, agree that this new chapter in our lives will require other aspects of communication to keep up with each others lives. this summer has been nothing less than eventful. i have been between new orleans, gulfport, philadelphia, and jackson searching endlessly for a job. as some of you may know, luke recently excepted a job with a geoscience material testing company based out of birmingham. luke will be based out of d'iberville. being in the construction business, he will be working on various jobs, which will take him from place to place over days, weeks, months, even years. so his first job site is in new orleans. he and i both are very excited. i have had three job interviews with the public school district in nola. i am not sure what will come of these, but i am thinking very positive and trying to understand that my plan may not actually be HIS plan. that is a very hard big girl concept for me to understand. given that i HAVE to have a job, i have not limited my search to nola. i have had a job interview in gulfport, and im continuing to search in the jackson area. but all in all having a serious relationship with someone is almost impossible when you live three hours away from someone. we are really excited about this opportunity to be in the same city, or have each other much closer as we tackle this next chapter in our lives together. i never thought i would be the girl who moves for a guy, but girls this one is different. i would do anything to be closer to him. but if jobs dont workout and we have to spend another year apart, we will do what we do best and live apart, because successful careers are important to the both of us.
on a lighter note, this summer has been amazing. i have graduate from mississippi state, seen many friends get married, and spent lots of quality time with my family. me and bella have enjoyed our summer in nola, out on the boat, and job hunting. but we are extremely ready to know what i will be doing and where we will be. as far as teaching jobs go, time is running short and so are jobs. its very hard to think i owe gobs in students loans, and worked my butt off for four years to possibly not have a job. but i guess i need to understand that im not the only one. most college graduates are in my position. i miss all of my friends. i wish you all the best in your job searching. i am posting some pictures from the summer thus far. until next time.
